Christ Central Ministries began in August 1992 as Inner City Ministry, answering the call to confront homelessness and poverty in Columbia, SC. What started as a local outreach blossomed into a statewide movement of compassion and transformation. In May 1997, we officially became Christ Central Ministries, expanding our reach while deepening our mission: to offer hope through Christ.
In 2004, former contractor Jimmy Jones left the construction industry to answer a higher calling. Today, he serves as Founder and CEO of Christ Central Ministries, reporting to a committed Board of Directors and overseeing day-to-day operations, leadership development, and outreach strategy.
Our Mission
We believe poverty is not just a financial issue — it’s a spiritual and relational one.
That’s why we don’t just treat symptoms.
We research the root causes of poverty, then partner with churches, schools, businesses, government agencies, and everyday people to respond with wisdom, integrity, and love.
This is our godly response:
To meet both physical and spiritual needs — and to walk with people as they rebuild their lives.
Our Initiatives
Mission Stations: Community hubs offering food, clothing, shelter, daycare, life skills training, and entrepreneurship support.
Mission Lake Wilderness Camp & Research Campus: A haven for family camps, sports activities, and spiritual growth, complete with a library, museum, prayer garden, and conference center.
Christ Central Institute: Equipping community chaplains and missionaries to serve both locally and globally through specialized training and hands-on experience.
