“Praise the Lord, everyone!” These are the words you’ll often hear from Prophetess Annetta Belton, a faithful volunteer who has been serving with Concessions of Hope for the past three years. After retiring from her career of 25 years, she felt led by God to dedicate her time to ministry—and she’s been joyfully serving ever since.
A Life of Service
Each week, Prophetess Belton takes on multiple roles to support the mission. On Mondays, she picks up food donations from Sharing God’s Love for the mission. On Thursdays, she faithfully gathers donations from Dunkin’ Donuts. And throughout the week, she joins the team to help prepare and serve meals, starting every morning at 7:30 a.m. with devotion.
“I thank God for the opportunity to spread His Word to those who need to hear it,” she shares. For her, volunteering isn’t just about meeting physical needs—it’s about making sure people know that God loves them and has a plan for their lives.
Witnessing God’s Work
In her time volunteering, Prophetess Belton has seen lives transformed:
- Individuals who were once homeless now returning to share they have an apartment.
- Those who lacked transportation now testifying that they have reliable ways to get around.
She points to Jeremiah 29:11 as a guiding scripture: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Even when challenges arise, she reminds those she serves that God’s love isn’t based on material things, but on His unchanging promise.
A Call to Join the Mission
Prophetess Belton is quick to extend an invitation: “We need help. We ask that anyone who is able, even for an hour, to come and make an impact. We are here in this community to turn lives around.”
Her heart for service is lifelong. “I will continue to serve until the Lord leads me somewhere else. I’ve always had a servant’s heart, and I pray to serve until my last breath.”
Be Part of the Change
Concessions of Hope serves nearly every day, offering food, fellowship, and the love of Christ to those in need. Volunteers like Prophetess Belton are the backbone of this mission, and there is always room for more hands and hearts to help.
